Auditory training: From behavioral to neurophysiological data

The aim of this article is to give an overview of the literature on auditory training procedures used in a linguistic context. After a brief historical introduction, we focus on the notions of learning and critical periods. We then describe in detail the different types of auditory training, which leads us to define and discuss the notion of cortical and sub-cortical plasticity.
