The Memory, Brain and Cognition laboratory specializes in the neurocognitive study of human memory and memory distortions at different ages of life with combined experimental psychology, neuropsychology, and cognitive neuroscience approaches. Episodic memory in its multiple forms, both retrospective and prospective, is at the core of current research, especially the autobiographical memory that grounds our sense of personal identity, temporal continuity, and self-awareness. The laboratory members develop an innovative ecological approach that uses virtual reality technologies to evaluate memory in a more embodied approach and propose new methods of rehabilitation and optimization. This article briefly illustrates the evolution of our work in episodic and autobiographical memory and the innovative approaches implemented within the laboratory.
